AMBASSADOR SUBCOMMITTEE
Ambassadors serve as a public relations support for the Chamber of Commerce. They assist the Chamber's efforts to obtain, maintain and retain members through personal interaction and involvement.

BENCHMARKING VISIT SUBCOMMITTEE
Plans and executes the annual delegation visit to a city of similar size to investigate new programs and initiatives and assesses/adapts its best practices to meet our growing needs.

CULTURAL AFFAIRS SUBCOMMITTEE
Liaisons with businesses that support the arts and coordinates with key arts and culture organizations.

EDUCATION, EMPLOYMENT, AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SUBCOMMITTEE
E3 focuses on leveraging the interdependency and linkages between education, employment and economic development for both our members and Houston community.

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS SUBCOMMITTEE
Monitors and keeps members regularly informed on pending legislation of business interests in Congress. Liaisons with local council, legislators and congressional delegation.

Mat-Su Pike Derby
Plans the Chamber's annual fishing tournament, obtains sponsorships and prizes and recruits participants.

LEADERSHIP HOUSTON
Members of Leadership Houston are local business people who hold mid to upper level management positions within their companies or organizations. They also demonstrate concern for community issues and volunteer their time to two or more service organizations. The selection process is intensive, as the class size is limited to approximately 10 members.

Work with Mat-Su RC & D council and the Sirolli institute, people driven economic development.

MILITARY AFFAIRS COUNCIL
Maintains positive relations with the men and women who serve in our Military and National Guard.

MINORITY BUSINESS CONSORTIUM
Develops and implements professional/business programs targeting the needs of minority and women entrepreneurs and provides an opportunity for their involvement and participation in Houston's economic development initiatives.

PUBLIC POLICY SUBCOMMITTEE
Develops and promotes quarterly roundtables and other public policy events with topics for businesses interested in governmental affairs and government related networking opportunities.

Awards Dinner SUBCOMMITTEE
Plans and executes the nomination and selection process of the Small Business of the Year awards and obtains sponsorships for the program.

STATE LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS SUBCOMMITTEE
Surveys key local constituent groups and Chamber members to identify legislative issues of high importance to the business community. Constructs the annual Business Agenda. Presents the agenda to city council, state and federal lawmakers on behalf of the Chamber. Subcommittee builds agenda from August to December and monitors the agenda from January to May.

URBAN ENTERPRISE INITIATIVE
Works as a catalyst to assemble the talents of the real estate development community, public and private financial sources, local government and entrepreneurs to create a plan for the revitalization of economically challenged areas in Houston by working to provide a climate for economic revitalization, redevelopment and business growth.
